Imagine battling cancer for the majority of your life. That’s exactly what the third recipient of a River of Hope Foundation retreat, three-year old Mathias Thorpe, has had to endure. Just months after his uncle passed away from cancer, Mathias was diagnosed with leukemia. Even with the potential of a non-terminal prognosis, Mathias must endure lengthy and continued treatments. Mathias’s River of Hope retreat goes beyond a soothing pond and water feature, but also includes a play set and several mini-golf holes, a perfect backyard escape to help this inspiring little boy, and his entire family, heal.
