Dave Lorang, Age 45

44 year old firefighter, Dave Lorang, was the second recipient of a River of Hope Foundation healing water retreat. Dave was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer, in the spring of 2006. Dave received a clean scan in November of 2006, only to find six weeks later that the cancer had metastasized to his entire skeleton and that he was terminal. With aggressive treatment, along with Dave’s faith, positive outlook and zest for life, he was able to spend the next three years with his family and friends, enjoying life to the fullest. Dave’s River of Hope retreat was a soothing sanctuary during his final days and remains as a peaceful memorial.
