What We Really Do

The River of Hope Foundation provides healing environments to help better the quality of life for those affected by cancer. To be more specific, we bring nature to those who need it most. Through our nomination process we are able to identify those who could really use a place to relax and relieve some of the stress involved with cancer treatment, or recovery.

Through the use of water features and landscaped areas we are able to take our passion for showing appreciation for what the patients and their families are going through into a setting that makes it comfortable to share, bond, or just “be”. The sights and sound of water and nature can have a very powerful affect on the mind, body, and spirit allowing a calmness to take over. When this, as well as a general support and awareness of the benefits of integrative therapies are combined with traditional medical treatments we believe that a more positive perspective can be achieved.

Although we are currently focusing on the individuals who are nominated due to the ability to fund projects, we realize that there is a larger group who have not yet been able to be involved. This is why we will also be working to plan, fund, and construct large scale community “park” projects with a goal of showing our appreciation and sharing our mission with all who are affected by cancer in any way.

If you have spent some time on our website you may have notice our shows. We produce 30 minute TV shows that with the help of corporate sponsorships and individual donations allow us to spread our message. These TV shows highlight the patient and their family, while giving the medical teams perspective, and showcase the projects as they are installed. Although not all of are recipients are featured in show, we do make every effort to feature all aspects of general cancer awareness, as well as the benefits that integrative medicine can have on quality of life.

Through the combination of our residential and community projects, and our TV show we believe that we are fulfilling the mission of the River of Hope Foundation. We are able to create positive environments while at the same time encouraging others that helping someone attain a better quality of life while going through cancer treatment can be a simple, yet very rewarding.
